What is RSE Day?

RSE Day is a day to celebrate great Relationships and Sex Education in schools and other settings.  RSE Day takes place on the last Thursday in June each year.  In 2024 it will be held on Thursday 27 June with the theme of 'Embracing change'.

RSE Day began in Nottingham in June 2018 and continues to be run by Nottingham City Council in collaboration with our sponsors.

RSE Day is an opportunity to share good practice, reflect on successes and areas for development and be creative with RSE content and delivery.

Nottingham RSE Day project

Once again this year, in collaboration with ChalleNGe Nottingham, we are working with an artist to run an RSE day art project for schools in Nottingham City.  Illustrator, Hannah Sawtell, will work with two schools in April to create some images around the theme 'Embracing change'.  These will feature on postcards for schools to use as a stimulus for discussion and art-work on RSE Day.  On 6 June, Hannah will run a workshop with teachers to share some illustration techniques for them to use with children in their setting.
