Gambling Harms Training

Gambling related harm impacts many families across the country, including in Nottingham. Often harms are identified too late or not at all, and people affected are left feeling alone and that they are to blame. Sadly hundreds of people take their lives every year because of gambling.

Chapter One prevention programme provides information, training and support, formed and informed by people with lived experience.

Millions are affected by gambling related harms either directly or
indirectly across the UK. Locally within Nottingham there are
currently 13,623 people who would benefit from gambling
treatment or support with the city experiencing the second
highest rate of gambling related harms in England. Sadly,
hundreds of people take their lives annually as harms are largely
identified too late or not at all leaving people affected feeling
isolated, alone and that they are to blame.

Nottingham City Council have commissioned the charity to deliver two different training programmes for professionals who may encounter adults at risk of/experiencing gambling harm and for professionals working with children and young people aged between 11 and 25.The training will give participants knowledge, confidence, skills and resources to prevent gambling-related harms and support those affected.

Both programmes are free and will be delivered in person or online. This is the booking link for online training for professionals working with Children and Young People.
