The Achieve Well Team sits within the Education Department of Nottingham City Council and is funded by Public Health. We support Nottingham schools to enhance the health and wellbeing of children through an evidenced based whole school approach in line with statutory requirements.

Meet the Team

Achieve Well Team Manager
Catherine Kirk has worked for Nottingham City Council for over 10 years as RSE Consultant and, more recently, leading the Achieve Well Team. Catherine's career to date has focused on developing PSHE provision for children and young people. She has worked for two local authorities leading the development of RSE and PSHE. Catherine is a skilled trainer, author, teacher, and Mental Health First Aid instructor. In her spare time, Catherine loves keeping active with belly-dancing and Zumba.

Achieve Well Officer - Eating and Moving
Fred Morris has over 10 years of experience in education, specializing in secondary and Post-16 education physical education. As a Further Education Sport Lecturer, he has delivered a range of sport-related courses from Level 2 to Level 6. In his previous role as a Regional Personal Development Coach, Fred shaped tutorial and PSHE programs across the East Midlands, Northeast, and Northwest in post 16 educational settings with a focus on promoting health and well-being. Outside of work, Fred enjoys staying active through sports and outdoor activities.

Achieve Well Administrator
Charlotte Mitchell-Brown has worked in customer service and admin for the past three years, two of those being an education based setting. She found her passion for working with young people during her time working as a summer school assistant, while at home from university. Charlotte has skills in administration, customer service, social media management and design. In her free time she enjoys making art, watching live music and cycling.

The Achieve Well Team’s contribution to broader strategies
The Achieve Well Team contributes to public health priorities across a range of themes including eating and moving for good health, drugs and alcohol awareness, tobacco and vaping awareness, sexual health and emotional health and wellbeing. We work towards targets identified within the Eating and Moving for Good Health Strategy.
We are committed to an approach that puts children at the heart of decision-making in line with our ambition to become a Child Friendly City.
